Today, May 26, the second round of presidential elections is taking place in Lithuania. Polling stations opened at 7:00 local time (coincides with Kyiv time) and will continue to work until 20:00.

Ex-Finance Minister Ingrid Simonite and the Lithuanian politician and economist Gitanas Nauseda claim for the presidency.

We note that in the first round of elections, held on May 12, they were separated by a little less than one percent. Simonite, a candidate from the conservative party "Union of the Fatherland - Christian Democrats of Lithuania", won 31.31% of the vote.
30.94% of voters stood for the former adviser to the president of the Lithuanian SEB bank, whose support was announced on May 24 by the Union of Peasants and Greens of Lithuania.

Early voting in Lithuania started on Monday, May 20 and lasted until Friday, May 24. It was held at home for voters over 70 years old and those who, due to health reasons, cannot come to the polling stations.
