Acting Healthcare Minister of Ukraine Ulyana Suprun urged the UN to exclude Russia from the Security Council. She stated it during her speech at the 72nd session of the World Health Organization in Geneva as Healthcare Ministry reported.
She noted the promotion of the reform of the healthcare system in Ukraine despite the fact that it took place amid the five-year aggression from the Russian Federation. Suprun emphasized that Russia continues to violate the international right and human rights all this time.
“The UN should not tolerate the presence of the Russian Federation at the Security Council until it returns to the system of the international right,” Suprun stated.

She noted that Russia cannot stay in the Security Council until it withdraws its troops from Donbas and Crimea; until it releases the POWs and political prisoners.
Suprun also urged the WHO and other international organizations to refuse from the Russian financing “not to become the hostages of Kremlin”. She also noted that it is necessary to maintain and extend anti-Russian sanctions.
On May 18, Russia’s representation to the UN appealed to the Chairman of the Security Council asking to call the session because Verkhovna Rada adopted the language law. However, UN Security Council denied Russia discussion the Ukrainian language law.

As it was reported earlier, on April 25, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law #5670-d on the provision of the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state one in the second reading and in general.
