Sergeant Serhiy Hvozdiyevsky died of the combat wounds at a hospital in Dnipro city April 29. Another Ukrainian serviceman, the soldier of the 24th Brigade Volodymyr Kutsyk deceased on April 30.
Ukrainian court sentenced Brazilian citizen Rafael Lusvarghi to 13 years in prison. The man goes to jail for membership in an illegal armed gang of pro-Russian militants in Donbas as well as other crimes against Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The court also seized Lusvarghi's belongings and charged him for 555 U.S. dollars, which is the expertise-related expenses.
Ihor Kolomoysky, the Ukrainian businessman and oligarch said that there's a 'civilian conflict' going on in Donbas. Stepan Poltorak, Ukraine's defense minister expressed surprise at the statement, expressing confidence that every Ukrainian knows who's behind the military aggression in Donbas, as well as who fights whom and what kind of weaponry is used in the conflict.
President Petro Poroshenko granted the title of Hero of Ukraine and the Gold Star order to Major General Ihor Momot (posthumously). The ceremony took place during the President's working visit to Cherkasy region, central Ukraine. In July 2014, Russian occupants launched an attack from Grad MLRS, shelling positions of Ukrainian tactical unit in Luhansk region, on the border with Russia; Ihor Momot, who at the time served as Colonel of the State Border Guard of Ukraine was killed in action.

Volodymyr Zelensky wins the presidential run with 73,22% of the votes. Official results have been already published in Ukraine’s official newspaper. What’s next – inauguration. It should take place not later than June, 2.

His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epifaniy, the leader of Ukrainian Orthodox Church (former Moscow Patriarchate) Metropolitan Onufriy, then the honorary Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Filaret. Not many details reveled, except all of them congratulated the newly elected president of Ukraine with the victory on the elections.
Meanwhile, the advisers of President-elect visited Brussels and delivered a speech to the EU ambassador. They presented the program of the future president and discussed the renewal of the meetings in the Normandy Format.

Memorial rallies took place in Odesa on May 2, as people marked the fifth anniversary of the tragic events at Kulykove Field in the city’s downtown.
Five years ago, pro-Russian activists provoked a massive riot, applying force and even firearms against football fans and Euromaidan supporters. 48 people deceased in street fights and the fire in the House of Trade Unions. Most of them choked to death, breathing in too much gas.
The UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine considers the investigation of mass deaths during unrests in Odesa ineffective. The Head of the Mission Fiona Frazer said this, commenting on the current course of the investigation.
