President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated that all issues concerning Ukraine should be discussed only with the support of the international partners, as Russia perceives only position of strength as the presidential press service reported.
That's why we are heading to NATO, because NATO is not every man for himself. NATO is when one for all and all for one. NATO is when 30 member states ensure the inviolability of borders," Poroshenko stated.

Concerning the possibility of the bilateral negotiations with the leadership or representatives of Russia as other candidates for presidency promise to hold them, Poroshenko answered:
“Can there be bilateral negotiations[/img]

"Can we discuss, for example, immediate release of Ukrainian sailors? Can we discuss the freedom of navigation or the return of Ukrainian warships? We can. But a comprehensive position must be discussed when we have a great power," the president said.
Poroshenko also noted that Putin is not the one to decide who will become the president of Ukraine but Ukrainian people should do it.
Earlier Poroshenko condemned the visit of presidential candidate Yuriy Boyko and the chairman of the political council of Opposition platform – For Life Party Viktor Medvedchuk to Russia, as well as talks with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Gazprom head Alexei Miller.

However, the number of the European MPs stood for the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.  Jiri Payne said that dialogue with Russia, on economic cooperation as well, can help to overcome the conflict between Kyiv and Moscow.
Steven Woolfe said that to have any deal between Europe, Ukraine and Russia to create a stable energy supply for each of those regions is very very important.
Besides, it was emphasized that Ukraine will be more of a bridge than a wall between European Union and Moscow.
