European partners of Ukraine have been against U.S. participation in the negotiations to resolve the situation in the Donbas. This was stated by Viktor Medvedchuk, Chairman of the Political Council of “Opposition Platform – For Life” political party, on the air of 112 Ukraine.
"We need to answer the question: why the United States still does not participate officially, for example, in the Normandy format[/img]

Medvedchuk recalled that Russia has repeatedly stated that it does not object the United States taking not just active, but direct participation in the negotiations. "But there are objections of European colleagues... Hollande, the then president of France, also held the position that the Europeans would cope with this themselves," the politician added.
Medvedchuk also explained the U.S. policy towards Ukraine. “We are well aware that the participation of the Americans, who are now pursuing an open policy of using Ukraine as a foothold for clarifying relations between Russia and Ukraine, is a clear policy today,” he said.
In addition, the chairman of the Political Council of “Opposition Platform – For Life”  added there are circumstances that indicate the introduction of external administration in Ukraine by the United States. "And today, the actions of the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, and the actions of the American authorities indicate that the Ukrainian authorities are doing everything, proceeding from the fairway in which it operates today, in order not to oppose or violate any the interests of the Americans," Medvedchuk summarized.
Earlier, Medvedchuk said that special representative of the U.S. State Department for Ukraine Kurt Volker does not take part in the negotiations on Donbas, because he has personal one-sided position.
