Russian oligarch Deripaska sues U.S. due to sanctions against him

Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska sued the United States on, alleging that it had overstepped its legal bounds in imposing sanctions on his companies.
Reuters “Deripaska asked a federal court in Washington to block the U.S. Treasury Department from using the “devastating power” of such sanctions, which he claims were arbitrarily applied to him last April and violated his right to due process under the U.S. Constitution”, - the report said.

Deripaska, as it is stated in the lawsuit, is affected by a “general hysteria” based on unfounded allegations about him, spread by members of U.S. Congress and others, set against the backdrop of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign
Deripaska wants to delete his name from the sanction list.
“The result of these unlawful actions has been the devastation of Deripaska’s wealth, reputation, and economic livelihood”, - his attorney, Erich Ferrari, wrote in the 28-page lawsuit submitted to the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.

Earlier, The U.S. Treasury of the State canceled the sanctions against three companies tied to the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. The list includes US Rusal plc, En+ Group plc, and JSC EuroSibEnergo.
The decision to lift the sanctions was made in spite of the Democrats' decision to keep the imposed limitations on the said companies effective.
