Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine decisively condemns the visit of the group of French politicians to Crimea. This is mentioned in the message posted on the website of the authority's website.
'Making an unsanctioned visit to the criminally annexed Ukrainian territory, the French citizens showed disrespect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, ignoring the fundamental principles of the international law, the Ukrainian law. They also act against the official position of their own country. which decisively condemns Russia's attempt to annex the Ukrainian peninsula', reads the message.
The Ukrainian side assesses these actions of the French politicians as direct indulgence to the aggressor in his unacceptable policy of expansionism, intolerance and discrimination, the militarization of Crimea and creation of safety threats in the region of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as massive and systematic human rights violations in the occupied Crimean peninsula.

'We once again demand that the foreign citizens clearly adhere by the order of entry and exit from the timely occupied territory of Ukraine. The culprits will be brought to responsibility under the Ukrainian law', the authority said.
MPs from France are reported to be visiting the Russia-annexed peninsula for events timed to the fifth anniversary of the annexation.
Previously, leader of Syria Bashaar al-Assad and French far-right politician Marine Le Pen also stated they would come to Crimea for the so-called 'Yalta International Economic Forum'.
Russia annexed Crimea in March 2014. Crimea was declared a temporarily occupied territory. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially announced February 20, 2014 the beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia. On October 7 2015 Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko signed the relevant law. International organizations recognized the occupation and annexation of Crimea illegal and condemned Russia's actions. The West introduced a series of economic sanctions. Russia denies the occupation of the peninsula and calls it a "restoration of historical justice."
