The presidential campaign in Ukraine is “harsh and dirty”, the Kremlin still does not know “who to talk to”, as Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview for a Bulgarian news agency Trud.
“Harsh, dirty presidential campaign is underway in Ukraine. Here in Russia we still don’t understand who can we speak with,” the Russian PM noted.

According to Medvedev, Russia was ready for the dialogue with Ukraine’s new authorities, “if it is interested”.
“Yet it’s also important that the victory is fair and elections – legitimate. Recent events make us see the worst is coming,” Medvedev stated.

He stressed that Ukraine has shut down polling stations in Russia and banned Russian citizens from participating in the elections as observers.
Ukraine’s Security Service informed about prevention of a large-scale cyber attack at the website of the Central Election Commission.
Earlier we reported that Russia intends to involve all present arsenal, including the cyber means, to influence the upcoming elections in Ukraine.

The election campaign has officially started on December 31, 2018. Registration of the candidates was closed on February 4, 2019, and on February 9, the final list of presidential candidates is expected to appear. The candidates would be able to withdraw their candidacy until March 7, 2019.
