The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin discussed Iran’s military presence in Syria, as Radio Liberty reported.
“The biggest threat to the stability and security in the region comes from Iran and its representatives. We are determined to continue our aggressive actions against Iran’s efforts, which calls for our destruction, and against its attempts to take hold in Syria,” the Israeli Prime Minister stated.

Netanyahu’s visit to Moscow was the first since the Syrian troops have accidentally hit the Russian transport aircraft reacting to the Israeli air strike in September 2018. 15 Russian servicemen died then.
It was noted that Russia is the main international ally of the Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, it has close ties with Iran.

As reported earlier, about 400 U.S. military men will remain in Syria after the planned withdrawal of the U.S. military contingent from this country in spring.
