A rally called "Mothers' Anger March" was held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Yaroslavl, Kazan and a number of other cities in Russia. Its members came to the streets in protest against political repressions, reports Radio Liberty.
The reason for the rally was criminal cases against two women activists: Anastasia Shevchenko in Rostov-on-Don and Lia Milushkina in Pskov.
In Moscow, "Mothers' Anger March" rally was not agreed with authorities. Nevertheless, people gathered in the city center. Several hundred people marched along the Boulevard Ring, chanting the slogan "Freedom to political prisoners."
It is reported that a group of SERB activists headed by Gosha Tarasevich arrived at the very beginning of the rally. They arranged a brawl with those present, after which law enforcement officers detained two marchers. After another attack, Tarasevich was also detained.
A similar action took place in St. Petersburg. There, the police demanded that the protesters disperse, threatening to use physical force and shooting the crowd on cameras. At the moment, seven detainees were reported.
In Yekaterinburg, the rally was agreed with the authorities and no arrests were reported.
