U.S. President Donald Trump decided that he solved the Russian issue when he fired his national security adviser Michael Flynn in 2017 as Business Insider reported citing former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s book.
Then Trump fired Flynn thinking that it will help him to end all talks about ties with Russia; however, it did not work.

Trump literally said: "This Russia thing is all over now, because I fired Flynn”. And reaction of Christie, when he laughed, puzzled American president as he considered that Flynn was the key figure and point in the relations with Russia.
Moreover, Jared Kushner, the adviser and son-in-law of Trump supported him:
"That's right, firing Flynn ends the whole Russia thing”.

At the same time, Christie stated that he had seen no ties of Flynn with the Russians and there was no sense to dismiss him.
However, the investigation on Russian interference in 2016 American presidential elections and Trump’s ties with Russia continued in 2018, two years after.

Recently, Roger Stone, the ex-advisor of U.S. President Donald Trump was detained and accused within the investigation of Russia’s interference in the presidential election in 2016.
As t was reported earlier Michael Flynn promised “full cooperation” in the special counsel’s Russia investigation and, according to a confidant, is prepared to testify that Donald Trump instructed him to contact Russians, initially to work together to fight ISIS in Syria.
