Theresa May has made a last-ditch attempt to save her Brexit deal by sharing letters from the EU which she says reassures the Northern Irish backstop is "not a trap".
The prime minister and the European Union released letters intended to quell the fears of MPs who believe the UK will not be able to get out of the backstop arrangement and fear a return of a hard border in Northern Ireland. But the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) have called the reassurances "meaningless", saying the letters only "bolster our concerns".
