Earlier, Regional Administrative Court of Kyiv ruled to reinstate Roman Nasirov as Head of the State Fiscal Service. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to appeal the court’s decision.

The government decree that ruled to fire Nasirov appeared on January 31.
In November 2017, the Specialized Anti-Prosecution Prosecutor's Office passed the indictment against Nasirov. The investigation found out that he was involved in corrupt acts in the gas extraction area; the case is related to the figure of Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko, who created a corrupt scheme.
The investigation of the said gas case by the NABU began in December 2015. According to the prosecution, the members of the criminal organization unlawfully acquired $59 million through selling natural gas over the period from January 2013 to June 2016. Ukrgazvydobuvannya lost over $27 million as a result. The investigation established that 29 people were involved in this case. Seven of them are on the wanted list, including Onyshchenko. 12 indictments against 18 people were submitted to the court and 7 of them have already been found guilty.

The court even sentenced him to 60 days in prison, but Nasirov was bailed out quickly. The sum of the bail exceeded 36,000 U.S. dollars.
The media reported that Nasirov has two passports, the Ukrainian and the British ones.
Nasirov runs for the presidency in 2019; however, no think-tank or political scientist considers his odds high.
