Ukraine’s Foreign Minister invited to EU session on Azov Crisis

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin will participate in the session of the EU minister of foreign affairs during which the Russian aggression in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea
will be discussed. He got the proper invitation after the meeting with Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
“We start in Milan on the occasion of the ministerial session of the OSCE. We have started from the friendly talk with Federica Mogherini. I got the invitation to the meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers that will take place next Monday. We will talk how to jointly prevent the attempts of the Russian Federation to destabilize Ukraine and Europe,” Klimkin wrote on Twitter.

Later the press service of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry reported that Ukrainian minister mentioned the detailed evidence of the planned act of the aggression of Russia against Ukraine in the area of Kerch Strait and, as the consequence, the escalation of the situation with the security in Sea of Azov and the Black Sea during the meeting with Mogherini.
Besides, the parties discussed the situation in Donbas and prospects of the beginning of the UN peacekeeping mission in the support of the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.

The issue of the further ways of the sanction policy against Russia for the disruption of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and issues of the support by the EU reforms in the security and defense sector of Ukraine and implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU were discussed.
As we reported the official representatives of the EU member states approved sanctions against nine people responsible for the organization of the so-called elections on the East of Ukraine.
