The workers of Center on counteracting extremism detained lawyer Emil Kurbedinov in occupied Crimea as correspond of Radio Liberty Anton Naumlyuk reported on Facebook.
According to him, Kurbedinov was detained by the workers of Center on counteracting extremism under suspicion of propaganda or public demonstration of the Nazi paraphernalia or symbols, or paraphernalia or symbols of the extremist organization or any other paraphernalia or symbols, propaganda or public demonstration of which is banned by the federal laws.

Kurbedinov was detained on the way from home to the office. He was able to report about the detention only from the Department of Interior Ministry. Edem Smedlyaev went to him to provide legal support.
Later Naumlyuk reported on Facebook that Emil Kurbedinov was detained for the post on Facebook dated 2013.
“Lawyer Emil Kurbedinov is blamed for the post on Facebook dated 2013 with the symbols of the banned organization,” he reported.

On January 2017, Emil Kurbedinov and his fellow Edem Semedlyayev came to support the Saliyev family, the Crimean Tatar activists, whose house was searched by the Russian federal security service. Kurbedinov was detained by the road traffic police before he reached their house.

He was accused of posting photo and video of a rally of Khizb Ut-Takhrir organization in 2013. He was detained for 10 days. On February 5, Kurbedinov was released.
