Hungary will not lift “veto” on conduction of the sessions of Ukraine-NATO Commission
. At the same time, it will not impede the invitation of Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin to the NATO member states foreign ministers, as Peter Szijjarto, Hungary’s Foreign Minister, said, Radio Liberty reports.
“I can agree with the format of the meeting with Ukraine’s representative at the session of NATO foreign ministers, which will be similar to the one we had during the previous NATO summit. The Georgian and Ukrainian presidents were invited then. If Foreign Ministers of Georgia and Ukraine are invited to NATO session, we will not impede that,” Szijjarto said in Brussels.

The diplomat noted that Hungary would unblock the conduction of Ukraine-NATO Commission under one condition – if official Kyiv returns the right of Zakarpattia Hungarians to obtain the education in their mother tongue.
“Ukraine is not only violating the bilateral agreements, but also the international regulations, including the obligations to NATO. We reject the statement that this is a bilateral argument,” Hungarian Foreign Minister said.

As is known, Ukraine and Hungary's relations worsened when the Ukrainian parliament passed the law on education; it stipulated that the national minorities will be gradually switched to the mode where school children study in the Ukrainian language. They would be able to learn their native language, choosing it as an optional subject.
