Air polution will cost us $2,6 trillionMore than 200m people will die prematurely in the next 45 years due to the air polution, Interfax Ukraine.

The amount of such deaths will amount to 6-9m per year by 2016 compared to 3m in 2010, according to the Organisation of economic cooperation and development (OECD).

The world economy will lose 3,75bln of person-days by the end of 2060 due to the air polution effects imposed on the staff health and labour productivity.

Direct effect of such polution may exceed 1% of the world GDP, or in other words $2,6 trillion, according to the experts of OECD.

Proliferation of the diseases affected by the air polution will increase as well. New cases of bronchitis among children aged 6-12 yaers will increase fourfold making it up to 36m per year, and among adults threefold amounting to 10m per year.

More children will be diagnosed with asthma.

The worst index is in the countries with high population density and polution rate including India and China.

The high rates of death and morbidity will also be prevalent in Eastern Europe, Caucasus region, including Asia nd South Korea.
