Grande 'so sorry' she couldn't 'fix' Miller's pain

Ariana Grande has paid tribute to her former boyfriend Mac Miller a week after his death.
The US rapper was found dead at his Los Angeles home aged 26 following a suspected overdose.
Miller, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick, was in a relationship with Grande between August 2016 and May 2018.The 25-year-old singer posted a video on her Instagram account on Friday in tribute to her "dearest friend".

In a caption next to the video Grande wrote: "I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will."I can't believe you aren't here anymore. I really can't wrap my head around it."We talked about this. So many times."I'm so mad, I'm so sad I don't know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long."Above anything else. I'm so sorry I couldn't fix or take your pain away."I really wanted to."The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you're okay now. rest."

Mac Miller is reported to have struggled with drug abuse
In the short clip Miller appears to be about to tell a story before he realises Grande is filming him.
The pair then laugh together before Grande says: "It makes me happy."The Los Angeles Police Department said it was called to a "death investigation" at an address in the Valley Crest area of north Hollywood on 7 Friday September.His family said in a statement: "Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26."He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans."

A coroner has said Miller's cause of death is yet to be confirmed.The rapper is reported to have struggled with substance abuse and depression, and was caught drink-driving while two times over the limit in May.He first gained a following at age 18 with his mixtape K.I.D.S. in 2010.His best-known songs include Loud, Smile Back, and a collaboration with Grande called The Way.
