Top Gun sequel release date delayed by a year

Top Gun fans waiting for the much-anticipated sequel to the 1986 hit are going to have to be patient after the release date has been pushed back by a year.
Paramount Studios said Top Gun: Maverick will now hit cinemas on 26 June, 2020, instead of 12 July, 2019.
The film, which sees Tom Cruise reprising his role of Maverick alongside new cast member Miles Teller, began early production in May and is due to resume next month. However, a statement from Paramount said filmmakers are going to need the extra year to work on flight sequences with new technology and planes.

The film is thought to be about drone technology and the last days of dogfighting.A number of young Hollywood stars are said to be eager to play the son of Goose, Maverick's wingman who died in the original film.
Teller is said to have won the part after a rigorous testing process which involved flying to Cruise's home in Florida. The news comes just days after Jon Hamm and Ed Harris were confirmed to have signed up to play as yet unspecified roles.
