Bond movie delayed after director Danny Boyle quits

The new James Bond movie will reportedly miss its scheduled release date following the departure of director Danny Boyle.
It is likely that the 25th 007 film, starring Daniel Craig, will not show in cinemas late 2020, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The unnamed instalment was due to premiere in October 2019.The British director, 61, abruptly quit the project earlier this week, just three months before it was scheduled to start shooting. His departure was due to "creative differences", according to a Twitter statement issued by producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and lead actor Craig.

The tweet, posted on 21 August, said: "Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25."Boyle's wish to cast Polish actor Tomasz Kot, 41, as the film's main Russian villain may have been one of the creative differences, according to The Daily Telegraph.Others have suggested that the film's apparent topicality, with references to the #MeToo movement and potentially Russian involvement in geopolitics - could be behind the departures.
Former Bond villain Jonathan Pryce supported the theory, telling the Daily Mail: "They obviously couldn't take a socialist Bond."There are the Dannys of this world and then there are people who do the blockbusters," he added.

It comes as a spokeswoman for the film's supposed script writer, John Hodge, confirmed he was also no longer involved in the project.Rumours were rife about Craig and Boyle clashing over other casting issues - with the actor being said to have signed off on all major new signings since he began his tenure.
