Paramount is looking to cast their spell on nostalgic fans with a new Dungeons and Dragons film after their legal battle concluded.
The popular US children's TV show, which ran for 27 episodes in the 1980s, will be turned into a movie, set for release in 2021, with speculation over who will play their favourite characters.
The original board game involved each player taking on a character, with one player becoming Dungeon Master, acting as the game's referee and storyteller. It was created by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson and in 1974 they released their first version of the hand assembled game - the first 1,000 copies sold out in 11 months.
The characters form a party and set out on an "adventure" guided by a storyline set out by the Dungeon Master.
Arneson appeared in a movie version in 2000 with actor Jeremy Irons. The film was directed by Courtney Solomon, a Canadian who has since worked with Sylvester Stallone in the film Bullet to the Head in 2012.
