The Odessa authorities want to ban the LGBT parade that is set to take place on August 13 within the confines of the queer culture festival, UNIAN.
Claim was submitted to the Odessa district administrative court by the Executive committee of Odessa city council, stating it is impossible to hold the aforementioned parade.
Press Office of the “Odessa Pride2016” did not comment on the matter.
However, they emphasized, this year the organizing committee of “Odessa Pride” agreed to make the festival free for everybody who wants to support the LGBT community, which stands for the human rights.
Everybody can partake in the event – even those who are not related to the LGBT community. The only requirement is a person should be over 18.
The Odessa city council confirmed the registration of the claim. It is also reported a few mutually exclusive organizations applied to arrange events in the city centre.
“Unwanted incidents are possible,”- Press office of the Odessa city council.
In August 2015, the same parade had been announced. However, the court forbade the public meeting.
