Paper angels exhibition opened in western Ukraine

Paper angels exhibition opened in western UkraineMore than two thousand hand-made angels have arrived in Chernivtsi, Ukraine's western Bukovyna region.

The angels which were sent from Luhansk in eastern Ukraine are part of a project names 'On the Wings'. The mind behind the project is 10-year-old Polina Tufekchi who a few years ago started making the angels' figures of paper and fabric.

"Once I told my mom the war started because the angels had left our region," Polina Tufekchi said.

“We would really appreciate if our pupils could meet with their peers from Luhansk more often, as well as those from eastern Ukraine had a chance to look how we live here. We must understand there are no borders inside Ukraine," said Kateryna Ponomaryova.
