Jaguar workers put on three-day week until Christmas, as demand slumps

Jaguar Land Rover is moving to a three-day working week at its Castle Bromwich factory as falling sales and Brexit fears hit the plant.
The company told the 2,000 affected staff at the Midlands plant, which builds Jaguar cars, that they will work reduced hours until Christmas to preserve their jobs.
In April JLR said it was cutting 1,000 agency jobs at its UK plants and relocating 350 permanent staff from Castle Bromwich, which makes the XE, XF and XJ saloons and F-Type sports cars, to its Solihull factory.
A spokesman for the company said the decision was "temporary" and came after a "regular review of production schedules to ensure market demand is balanced globally".
