TSB standing orders fail amid IT meltdown

As TSB's technical meltdown drags into a second week, customers became aware that standing orders due at the beginning of the month had not been processed. Many could face costs for late payments, although TSB has promised to compensate customers for any losses. The bank has been on record to say that the "engine room" of the bank was functioning as normal.

It had said earlier on Tuesday: "Direct debits are working normally. We know there are some issues with a small number of standing orders today, we are working hard to resolve these," the bank said on its website.
"Payments through our mobile app and internet banking are available, but we know some customers are experiencing difficulties at the moment and seeing an error message."
@TSB problems again?!? Standing orders not working. Money left account but not reached receiving account?— Jacqueline Tait (@jacquelinetait1) May 1, 2018
Customer Claire Brown said standing orders due on Tuesday had been returned to her account. Ms Brown was told by TSB's Twitter support staff to log in to the company's website and not through a bookmark. However, another customer's complaint on Twitter had gone unanswered as TSB works through a backlog of tweets from a few days ago.On Monday, the bank warned customers that they could be targeted by fraudsters who were looking to cash in on the bank's struggles.
