Russia’s Sberbank mulling exit Ukrainian market as soon as possible

Russia’s Sberbank mulling exit Ukrainian market as soon as possibleRussia’s Sberbank considers the ways to exit the Ukrainian market as soon as possible.

This is reported by Ukrinform quoting Russian News Agency TASS.

According to Sberbank CEO Herman Gref, they are now looking for the ways to withdraw from the Ukrainian market.

“We hope we will be offered such an opportunity. Now we are considering such options very actively,” Gref said.

According to him, the current conditions in Ukraine are quite difficult for the banking institution.

Earlier Russia’s Sberbank reported 26 attacks on its offices and ATMs in largest Ukrainian cities after the announcement on recognising "DPR/LPR" passports. In Ukrainian capital, for example, fighters of Azov battalion had picketed one of the Sberbank’s branches on Volodymyrska Street in Kyiv. They constructed a wall from the concrete blocks and cement.

Gref also noted that Sberbank counted on the support of Ukraine’s government agencies in terms of restoring the bank’s normal operation.
