Ukraine's DGF resumes payments to closed Platinum Bank's depositorsThe Individuals Deposit Guarantee Fund on March b1, 2017 resumes payments to depositors of Platinum Bank (Kyiv), the fund has reported on its website.

The funds will be paid by departments of seven agent banks connected to an automated payment system – Pravex-Bank, Alfa-Bank, Kredobank, Ukrgasbank, FUIB, TAScombank and bank Pivdenny.

As reported, The Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund on February 24, 2017, began the liquidation of Platinum Bank. The liquidation procedure will last two years until February 23, 2019, inclusively.

Yuriy Irkliyenko has been appointed the liquidator for the corresponding period.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) by decision No. 95-RSh dated February 23 approved the fund's proposal to revoke the banking license and liquidate the bank.

The NBU board on January 10, 2017, declared Platinum Bank insolvent because as of January 1 the bank had not reached the positive value of capital.

According to the central bank, as of January 10, 2017, the owners of a substantial stake in Platinum Bank, irrespective of formal ownership, but taking into account the significant impact on the management and activities of the bank, were Borys Kaufman and Israeli citizen Gregory Gurtovoy.
