Inflation in Ukraine decreases to targeted indicator of 12% - NBU
The effectiveness of the monetary policy of the National Bank of Ukraine has been proved in 2016. In particular, the central bank has succeeded in reducing inflation to the targeted indicator of 12%.
Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontareva said this at the meeting with the senior management of the largest banks, the press service of the NBU reports.
"After the crisis in 2014 and 2015, we have managed to reduce inflation by means of monetary policy in 2016. It will reach the targeted indicator of 12% by the end of 2016. There is currently no alternative to inflation targeting as it is the monetary regime, which gives the required results in our case," Gontareva summed up.
