Big rival on food delivery market- Uber's new move
Uber has announced of its ambition to enter meal delivery market with major staff recruitment, Reuters.
Beyond its taxi business, Uber has started a wave of staff hiring to enter at least 22 new countries and take on local rivals.
UberEats is a new service that will operate across the world in the near future.
Earlier, Uber executives reported UberEats' international ambitions were a modest extension of its core business of transporting people.
However, the recruitment force over the last three months evidences something more ambitious is impending.
Recently named head of UberEats for Europe, Middle East and Africa Jambu Palaniappan said in an interview on Tuesday: "UberEats is one (business) we feel incredibly confident is resonating across the world and resonating across the footprint of the cities in which Uber operates the transport business."
Palaniappan named eight cities including Dubai and Johannesburg that UberEats to descend on by the end of the year, leaving the rest to be revealed.
