America's largest bank by assets is moving forward with plans to conduct its summer internships in key business lines in the office, two new memos show.JPMorgan Chase has told New York- and London-based interns in its corporate investment-banking and markets divisions that the "majority" of their programs this summer will be taking place in the office. The firm also said it's keeping close watch of the evolving situation related to the coronavirus pandemic. In two memos sent on Thursday by the firm's campus recruiting team that were viewed by Insider, JPMorgan told interns in those business lines that it had determined the opportunity to learn and interact with colleagues in-person was crucial to helping them develop the requisite skills to serve clients. That conclusion dovetails with previous statements by the bank's chief executive Jamie Dimon, who has been one of Wall Street's most vociferous proponents advocating to get younger employees back to the office.
