In the wake of an unusual cold weather, that prevailed for the whole spring and a part of the summer, a drop to 42.9mln hectoliters of wine is expected compared to the last year 47.8mln, according to the statistical service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Champagne region was among most affected. Here, the production could be reduced by a third.
