Experts named the worst currency in the world, BloombergMongolian tugrik (MNT) is the worst currency in the world as of August 2016, according to Bloomberg.

According to the periodical, the price of the Mongolian currency fell by 7,8% in the current month, that is the biggest drop among all the national currencies.

As of August 2016 the drop of tugrik has reached its maximum since 1993 when Bloomberg started to research it.

The currency went down in value more than other currencies over the month , thus, $1 equals 2,243.50 tugriks.

Since January the Mongolian currency lost its value by 11%.

In total, Bloomberg analysts monitor 154 currencies across the world.

Experts claim the drop in price of the energy sources, slowdown of the Chinese economy, drop of the foreign investments, inconsistent policy of the Mongolian government are among the reasons of the currency decline.
