Intel acquired the developer of artificial intelligence
Intel acquired the developer of artificial intelligence startup Nervana, which will allow the company to strengthen its position in the field of chip manufacturing.
The transaction amount was not disclosed. It is expected that the acquisition will allow Intel to develop Nervana tasks such as learning artificial intelligence and processing of large amounts of data.
The deal was signed a week after Intel Developers Conference to discuss the company's plans for the development of new systems. Analyst Patrick Moorhead says that the acquisition of start-relevant in the context of development of such technologies as cars on self-management, text-to-speech and object recognition systems.
Nervana was founded less than three years ago, to create a complete in-depth training on the use of the system - in the direction of creating an artificial intelligence that mimics the operation of neural networks of the brain.
Competitor Intel - Nvidia was one of the leaders in the development of neural networks because of its GPUs. Originally designed to create images in the field of computer technology, they were well suited for the treatment of deep learning.
