Real wages in Ukraine to grow by 5% by end of 2016

Real wages in Ukraine to grow by 5% by end of 2016Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Social Policy Minister Pavlo Rozenko has predicted that real wages in Ukraine would grow by 5% by the end of 2016.

"Today we have first positive signals: 3.5% growth of real wage, not taking into account inflation. We plan that by the end of the year and next years this will be at least 5% of the growth of real wage," the minister said at a government meeting on last week.

Rozenko said that growth of minimum wage in the country is planned at 13%.

He added that from July 1, 2016, the law foreseeing the increase of the size of taxable pensions (from three minimum wages to 10 subsistence rates for disabled persons) and the tax rate increase from 15% to 18% took effect.
