Foreign currency cash withdrawals are prohibited in Ukraine

The press-office of the National Bank of Ukraine informs that the decree N540 of 2 September prolongs the decree N328 valid until 1 of September and introduces additional measures for foreign currency exchange stabilization. According to the NBU decree, “withdrawal of cash within the territory of Ukraine through electronic payment systems is allowed only in hryvnas”. Besides, the NBU prolongs the limitations on deposit market and foreign currency operations for three more months from the 1 of September.As VNews informed earlier, the decree N540 of the NBU prolongs the validity period of the decree N328, which was valid until the 1 of September, and introduces additional measures for forex stabilization. To remind, the NBU decree N328:-Limits the maximum amount of cash withdrawal from accounts to 150 000 hryvnas;-Prohibits the sale of foreign exchange to private persons of more than 15 000 hryvnas;-Prohibits the foreign currency withdrawal in cash departments and ATM’s of more than 15 000 hryvnas;-Prohibits loan prepayment by residents, foreign-exchange deals without deliveries and savings certificate emissions.
