Pakistan commercial plane with some passengers onboard lost radar contactReports from Pakistan International Airlines say that a domestic flight has vanished off radar screens on Wednesday, DW.

A commercial plane carrying some 37 passengers and some 10 crew members lost radar contact earlier today, an airline spokesman said.

The Pakistan International Airlines flight en route to Islamabad from Chitral lost contact with air traffic control shortly before landing.

Local officials told the press that Flight PK-661 had crashed in the northwest of the country. The airline said that all resources had been called on to locate the ATR-42 aircraft and send rescuers to the crash site. Security forces have also been mobilized for a search and rescue mission, the Pakistani military said.
