An improvised explosive device in a backpack detonated on early Monday as authorities were using a bomb robot to examine the item, NJ.The explosion was not a controlled blast, but happened unintentionally as the robot was cutting the device, according to Mayor Christian Bollwage.
The incident unfolded after two men found the backpack who saw wires and a pipe in it and notified the police.
The Police cordoned off the station and many streets surrounding it.
It was reported no one was injured in the blast.
