Vuelta a Espana 2018: Simon Yates set to win his first Grand Tour

British cyclist Simon Yates is set to win his first Grand Tour after finishing third on a dramatic penultimate stage of the Vuelta a Espana.Spain's Enric Mas and Colombia's Miguel Angel Lopez finished first and second and forced themselves onto the general classification podium with one stage remaining.With Sunday's final stage a procession with traditionally no attacking, the Michelton-Scott rider needs to simply complete the race to Madrid to win the red jersey.
It will mean Great Britain will hold all three of cycling's Grand Tours at the same time for the first time in history - after Chris Froome won the Giro d'Italia in May and Geraint Thomas claimed the Tour de France in July.Saturday's stage 20, a 97km ride through the mountains of Andorra, ending with a gruelling 7.5km climb of Rabassa, was won by Mas with Alejandro Valverde and Steven Kruijswijk tumbling off the podium after being broken on the final climb.More follows.special guide.
