Family 'devastated' over death of woman found in suitcase

Phoenix Netts' family have asked 'to be left alone at this very difficult time'
The family of a woman whose remains were found in two suitcases in the Forest of Dean say they are "devastated" by her death.In a statement, Phoenix Netts' family said they needed to "come to terms with the loss of Phoenix in such tragic circumstances.""We have family and good friends supporting us and our thanks go out to all of them."Two people have been charged over the 28-year-old's death. Gareeca Conita Gordon, 27, of Salisbury Road in Birmingham is charged with murdering Ms Netts between 14 April and 12 May.
Mahesh Sorathiya, 38, of Denmore Gardens, Wolverhampton, is accused of assisting an offender between 25 April and 12 May.Neither defendant appeared at Bristol Crown Court where a hearing of the case took place on Tuesday morning.The judge granted bail to Mr Sorathiya. No application for bail was made on behalf of Ms Gordon.Both are due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 4 August.
Gloucestershire Police put road closures in place after the discovery was made near Coleford
West Midlands Police - which is leading the investigation - and Gloucestershire Constabulary are still working to establish where Ms Netts died.Det Ch Insp Scott Griffiths, from West Midlands Police, said: "Firstly, I'd like to offer my sincere condolences to Phoenix's family."We've worked closely with colleagues at Gloucestershire over the past week and our investigation continues at pace."We'd urge anyone with any information about the tragic loss of Phoenix's life to get in touch with us."
