On July 19, BoomBox, a Ukrainian band, had a free concert on the administrative board with the occupied Crimea. The stage was set for the performance at Kalanchak checkpoint. Olga Chertkova, the Press Agent of the band, posted a video from the concert on her Facebook page.
The show lasted for an hour. This way the band joined the rally in support of the Ukrainian political prisoners kept in the Russian jails.
“There will be no grand rhetoric, we will just do it,” Andriy Khlyvnyuk, band’s leader, said before the concert.
The letter which Sentsov sent to Khlyvnyuk pushed the artist to do it.

Earlier, Oleg Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment. It is the 68th day of his hunger strike. The only thing the movie director demands is to release all the Ukrainian political prisoners.
The members of the band unfolded a poster with a sign Free Sentsov, Free Crimea and sang Naodyntsi (“alone” in English, - ed).

The Belarusian Free Theater and the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) took part in the creation of this concert.

“Ten days ago Andriy got an idea to appeal to Crimea. The discussion started. We decided to make a concert for the stolen land. The idea that this land will hear and see that the songs sound for it. It is rather an artistic rally, not just a concert,” Mykola Khalezyn, the art-director of the Belarusian Free Theater, said.
In the first place, the concert was to be held on an empty field. However, around 400 viewers showed up to listen to the musicians.
