According to last statements of Kyiv, the cases of nationalisation of Ukrainian enterprises in certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions will be included in Ukraine's international lawsuits against the Russian Federation and may cause toughening of anti-Russian sanctions
"We understand that Moscow rules authorities in the DPR/LPR. Their statements spell out the stance of official Moscow, as an aggressor country, regarding some or other actions [...] We will place all these facts in our international lawsuits and this will be a subject of international court judgments. Russia will bear liability for this, including proprietary,", Ukrainian Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko told to media in Kyiv on Wednesday, Interfax-Ukraine
As Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said during the yesterday meeting with Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Great Britain Boris Johnson and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Witold Waszczykowski, Ukraine will demand that the sanctions against those responsible for "nationalisation" of Ukrainian enterprises in Donbas were expanded.
“Another brutal and dreadful violation of international law took place - Russia de-facto confiscated Ukrainian State and private assets located in the occupied territory. This is another evidence of Russian occupation of eastern Ukraine,” he said, according to 112 UA
TV Channel citing Presidential press service.
He added that all these events are taking place while "ruble zone" is being established in the occupied territories and gas and power supply coming from Russia.
“This is an absolutely clear confirmation of the fact of occupation of this territory by Russian troops along with full control over the state border in the uncontrolled area. In this regard, we emphasise that Russia bears full responsibility for ceasefire violation, murders of Ukrainian military and civilians, illegal detention of hostages both in the occupied territory and in Russia,” Poroshenko stressed.
He also called for sanctions’ extension after separatists decided to "nationalise" property located in Donbas.
“To apply sanctions for the violation of international and Ukrainian legislation against those who will enter into the so-called possession of confiscated assets,” he commented.
