- On the Day of a lawyer at the Institute of state and law V. M. Koretsky of NAS of Ukraine was held, without exaggeration, a landmark event in the legal life of the country: was officially presented Encyclopedia of international law in three volumes. I am glad that it is Ukrainian international lawyers were able to conceive, grow and in the end to give the first in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union fundamental scientific and practical collective work of such direction and of such a level. On the Encyclopedia a few years worked a large team of authors, under the inspiration of which was head of Department of international and comparative law Institute, a living legend of Russian science of international law, Professor Vladimir Denisov. In the Encyclopedia presents the history of international law found a place for personalities of scientists (from the "fathers" of international law to our contemporaries), alphabetical shelves carefully placed the industry, institutions, documents, events, facts, phenomena with international legal issues. The edition presented is certainly a phenomenon in the science of international law (and not only in the domestic science of international law) and the European encyclopedic tradition. But, it's sad and surprising that in the current geopolitical situation, at a time when ongoing Russian military aggression against Ukraine, when the application of international law is highly relevant to the very existence of Ukraine, currently by the state has funded only about three hundred copies of each of the three volumes of the edition. Despite this, the authors of the publication really made his case to fame: professional, dignified, competent manner.
